Day 1 Arrival Stavanger
Meet and greet at the airport. Stavanger was a canning and fishing city in the last century and is now turned into the oil capital of Norway – a large but friendly provincial town. Andreas visits Stavanger in both the first andthird seasons of “New Scandinavian Cooking” – joining the fishermen in catching sardines and paying a visit to the canning musuem. Overnight two nights at the Radisson Sas Atlantic Hotel.

Day 2 Stavanger
Set off on a guided walking tour of Stavanger including visits to the old part of the town with the Canning Museum and the Stavanger Cathedral. Dinner at the unique Flor & Fjære Restaurant located in an exotic garden on an island just ouside Stavanger. Andreas prepares a main course in the program from Stavanger with herbs and spices from this “Garden of Eden”.

Day 3 Stavanger – Sand
Private boat through the Stavanger archipelago and into the Lysefjord with one of Norway's spectacular wonders, Preikestolen - the Pulpit Rock, a rock formation just over 597 meters (2000 feet) above sea level. Andreas prepares alocal variation of the classic Salad Nicoise in these spectacular surroundings - on the top of the rock in episode 13 of season 1. Overnight at the Ryfylke Fjordhotel in the village of Sand.

Day 4 Sand – Lofthus
Visit the Mo Laksegård. This is the place where Andreas, in this season’s episode 11, attempts to catch a salmon with his bare hands – cooking the fish over open fire just minutes later. Try one of two memorable adventures; Salmon Safari or River Safari. Overnight at the Ullensvang Hotel beautifully located right by the fjord in the Hardanger region – the Garden of Fjord Norway.

Day 5 Lofthus - Os
Pay visits to a small producer of a type of garlic (“Viking garlic”) and a goat farm. Andreas is fond of this onion and uses it to flavor many different dishes. And in one of the shows Andreas gives a couple of ideas about how one can use goat cheese in different recipes – at this very goat farm in Hardanger. Two nights at the lovely Solstrand Hotel.

Day 6 Os
Bergen is often called “the Capital of the Fjords” and is Norway’s second largest city. In episode 2 in the first season Andreas introduces the viewers to beautiful Bergen with its traditional fish market. Visit the main sights of downtown Bergen with a local city guide. Spend the afternoon in the hotel’s spa and wellness area or join a culinary course.

Day 7 Os – Bergen - Florø
Visit the nearby pearl of Lysøen (the island of light) with the summer residence of Ole Bull (1810-1880), the renowned violin virtuoso who inspired Edvard Grieg.  Sail out into the open sea in a private boat passing through the Bergen archipelago to the small island of Fedje by the Hellisøy Lighthouse. Andreas starts off the third season of “New Scandinavian Cooking” with a visit to this old lighthouse and makes a delicious meal based on the local shellfish. Overnight at the Quality Hotel Florø.

Day 8 Florø - Ålesund
The boat brings you to Selje and the beautiful Seljesanden beach. Then continue north by coach to Ålesund – the lovely coastal town with its magnigicent Art Nouveau architecture. Ålesund is also known as the Baccalao capital of Norway, if not the world. The first episode of season two is devoted to the fascinating story about the fish that had to become an international success before it gained recognition in Norway. Spend two nights at the Radisson SAS Hotel Ålesund.

Day 9 Ålesund – Geiranger - Ålesund
